What we do

Launched in June 2005 at the Wild Trout Trust Open Day on the Glen Estate, on the Quair Water, the Tweed Trout & Grayling Initiative was initially a three year project, though it was always hoped that it would run long-term.

The success of the Initiative was and still is dependent on help from volunteers (especially those from local angling associations) and as such anyone can participate in some of the activities listed in this section of the web site if they so wish.

To accommodate volunteers the Initiative aims to carry out as much work as possible at weekends. Volunteers, or anyone wanting more information about the Initiative, can contact us through the contact section of the web site. Literature, newsletters and volunteer manuals for some of the projects listed below can be found in the download section of the web site.
