THE TWEED FOUNDATION

Output

Output: the conclusion will be a written position statement that will reflect the views of the meeting and will be a working tool for the members of ART, RAFTS and others. It is likely to be in three parts:-

  1. General Introduction and Background
  2. The Experience in the field in the form of Cameos (below)
  3. The Conclusions of the five Workshops

Cameos: In order to capture the experience and evidence from Rivers Trusts, delegates are invited to send Cameos of their work on behalf of their Trusts. These cameos will form the basis of the workshops, three of which will be selected for each workshop, and will be part of the written output which will raise awareness of their actions, highlighting what works and, as importantly, what does not. Each will be distinctive and their purpose is to translate practical experience and on-the-ground knowledge into practical policy. Trusts and others will be able to use the Final Report as a basis for local policy or as a guide to planning their own actions. The emphasis should be on implementation and be in the following 8 part form:

  1. The Issue – on one of the five workshop themes
  2. What was known beforehand
  3. What was done
  4. What were the outcomes
  5. What worked and did not work
  6. How was success measured
  7. How help, if any, was acquired
  8. What could have been done better

The best of these cameos will form part of each of the five workshops and they will be used in the Final Report.

As an incentive, all delegates who work for River Trusts which have submitted Cameos will receive a 50% discount on their booking (this discount is only available to employees and trustees of Trusts who are members of ART or RAFTS).

Posters: it will also be possible for delegates to bring and display posters to the workshop.
