The Tweed is an internationally famous Salmon fishery, a river of exceptionally high water quality, a highly scenic and productive landscape and an angling and tourism industry - based on both Trout and Salmon fishing - that is of enormous economic importance. The scale and importance of the fisheries resource is also reflected in the resources - of time, effort, expertise and money - that is now going in to protecting, enhancing and managing the stocks.
